It could include aspects of acupuncture, ashi atama (meaning “leg and head” in Japanese), ayurveda (traditional Indian massage), chi nei tsang, herbal massage, qigong, reflexology, shiatsu (Japanese massage), Thai massage and yoga. Instructor Jean-Claude is on the staff and he has studied massage in many parts of Asia.

As you would expect, Mai Spa Resort’s restaurant, Captain Skewer’s, is very much health oriented and can cook vegetarian meals. If all this detox sounds daunting, it is totally possible to stay here without going into rehab. But while some rooms have air-conditioning, there are no TVs, refrigerators or swimming pool. This hotel and its staff must be the best one in Hanoi, and great location. I highly recommend .In fact, we were so impressed, we came back again after our visit to Sapa. We liked the central location, the lake and the old town.
