Overview
Topas Ecolodge is situated in the perfect location at 02 cone-shaped hills set deep in the spectacular Sapa valley of Northern Vietnam. We want to be sure that we have presented ourselves as accurately as possible before you visit us. Therefore, there are some things you should know; Topas Ecolodge is situated 18 km outside Sapa town and the bus ride is approximately 45 min. We call it an “adventurous bus ride” mainly because the road conditions are not too good, but also because you'll meet many of the ethnic minorities of this area and probably a few buffalos.
We call ourselves a ‘lodge’ because we are not an ordinary hotel. Topas Ecolodge's bungalows have no TV or other entertainment and we have no swimming pool or spa facilities. All the 25 mountain lodges are built as rustic chalet-style single bedroom houses from local white granite. Each bungalow presents a casual style with a private balcony, from there you can enjoy the magnificent view of the towering peaks and endless valleys dotted with ethnic minorities’ villages. A perfect place for touring in the surrounding area or just relaxing from the noisy and busy city life. Our accommodations consist of 17 deluxe bungalows, and 8 executive bungalows. All bungalows has private bathroom and daily housekeeping is included in the room rate. As Topas Ecolodge tries to minimize waste, electricity and chemicals, our bungalows has a minimum of amenities and equipment. For the same reason we do not supply you with tooth brush, unnecessary soap etc, though it is always available upon request.
Topas Ecolodge's employees are young people from local minorities and not all are equally proficient in English. We often experience break down of the power supply and during the rice planting season we struggle with the lack of water. Topas Ecolodge is a full service lodge with staff and security taking care of you 24 hour a day. In our main building we have a restaurant, souvenir shop and a lounge with a bar.
